Overwhelmed.  That's an understatement.  And todays training only covered HR stuff at the new job.

Our class will go through 2 1/2 weeks of classroom training, followed by 65 hours of on-site training.  Then we will have to pass a final test before actually becoming an official employee.  There are 7 people in my class.  I am the only female.  We are the first class hired since 2008.  Can't really cover too many details as I was sworn in as a federal government employee today and big brother is most definitely watching my every move.

Keep in mind this is only a part-time job, so once training is complete in August, I will still have to continue promotions, voice lessons, singing gigs etc. in order to make ends meet.  Ideally, I would find another steady part-time job, preferably at a theatre in any sort of position, whether teaching or just admin - and of course, the occasional stage appearance (Ocean State Theatre Company is expanding ... *hint hint*)  Let's keep our fingers crossed, because a good chunk of my paycheck right now is going to go towards the benefits package the federal government offers.  It's just too good to pass up.
