Woke up this morning with a killer sore throat.  As the day moved on, I realized I am 100% sick, therefore I have determined I MUST be allergic to children.  When I teach, I get sick.  When I babysit, I get sick.  Otherwise, I am usually fine.

This afternoon I headed to Boston for a SAG Foundation event.  A seminar with 2 casting directors focused on 'Casting the Indie Film'.  Next, there was a private audition and cold reading workshop with 1 of the 2 casting directors.  Both events were VERY informative and I took a lot away from them.  In the audition workshop, we walked in and were given a script.  We were told to partner up and read through.  When the casting director arrived, she turned everything around, told us to put the script down and we would be performing the scene as an improv.  Improv?!?!?!?  UGH!!!!!!  I am absolutely terrified of improv and it showed.  Ever wish you could have a do over?  Yup, that was me.  As much as I wish it had gone better, I will say it was good to take me out of my comfort zone and I learned a lot by watching others perform.  I was surrounded by a VERY talented room full of people for sure.  I hope more events like this come up.  The event was free, so parking and gas was all I had to worry about.  I'd say it was worth every penny.
