Highlights:
- I still get a little creeped out when a total stranger calls me by name at work, but then I realize my work badge has it written on it.
- Was called out during training about my lack of eye contact. Been working on it ever since. Do you know how hard it is to look someone directly in the eyes for more than a couple seconds without feeling awkward? Sounds strange coming from a performer, yes? Well, we were taught to always look above the audience and never directly at them, so it's a bad habit I guess?
- Next week, voice lessons commence once again. I have 7 weekly students scheduled. I am looking for 10.
- Donated voice lessons to two different auctions for good causes. This will hopefully help with business.
- Was contacted by the 88th National Army Reserve Band out of Rhode Island. They are looking for a female vocalist. I would love to take on this part-time opportunity but I am not sure I am the singer they are looking for. Mostly pop music is their genre. I also don't know if my current job will allow me 10 weeks off of basic training, followed by 10 weeks of music school.
- Also contacted by a home schooling mom who would love to help me set up music and acting classes for her home schooling group, in exchange for free lessons for her daughter. This could be a good relationship for my business.
- Hurricane Isaac is approaching Louisiana today. Thinking of all my family and friends there, especially my mom and her husband in Baton Rouge. Stay safe!
- 70 blog views yesterday? Wow! You really care about my well-being considering the subject was 'sick'. Keep following readers! I promise things will get even more exciting in the fall!
