Survived my first full shift on my own this morning. I really like my team. Everyone is so helpful and ready to answer any questions I have. This might be alright.
After my shift, I walked to the shop my car is at, to find they sent it to another shop around the corner for a more specialized look. I sat there for a little over an hour waiting to hear what might be wrong, when I finally decided to head home. A couple hours later the specialized mechanic called me and wanted more specifics on what happened to my car. What's there to say? I drove to work in the morning, when my shift was over, the car wouldn't start. After a jump, it started, but wanted to have the shop take a look at it to make sure it was okay, considering I just got a new alternator and battery 2 months ago. The shop pulled a 'red flag' and claimed the car was not charging while idol. Then said when the A/C was on, it wouldn't hold charge. The specialized mechanic however found nothing wrong and claimed I must have left a light on or something. I am 99% sure I did nothing of the sort. I explained to him the day before, my battery light flickered on when I had the A/C running and was using the cigarette lighter for GPS while sitting in major traffic. He didn't think there was a problem with that and said he would do one more test and get back to me.
It didn't seem as if I would have my car back in time for my audition in Boston, and I was tired. My hope was to pick up the car, take a nap, prepare for the audition, then make the drive up with plenty of time. It was not meant to be. When I hadn't heard anything by 1:30pm, I cancelled the audition. Complete bummer as it took me a good amount of time to learn the 6-page song they sent me. Not 15 minutes later, I heard back from the mechanic. They tested EVERYTHING and could find nothing wrong. Gave it a clean bill of health. 2 1/2 days in the shop and nothing was wrong? Something's fishy. I hope my car doesn't leave me stranded once again. Twice in 2 months is just no good. The mechanic even called my car a nightmare. Lesson learned. Do not purchase a Ford Focus ever again. (Every mechanic who has worked on it has complained about the way they are made)
