Completed my work week and now it's my weekend! TGIS!
Got home, took my 2-hour nap, cleaned the bathroom, then worked on reviewing lines. Off-book Act 1 tomorrow. Then I can start looking at Act 2, which is a little shorter.
I am not sleeping well at night, so I am trying to figure out what I can do better. I have not found a sleep aid that works for me, as I only have 6 hours each night and when I wake up after taking something I feel groggy at work. So, I am up for suggestions. I have tried Tylenol PM, Melatonin, Valerian, and Chamomile Tea thus far. I eat well, exercise, take a 2-hour nap to cover a total of 8 hours of sleep each day. So I am also looking for what will help me boost my energy?
Here is a typical day in the life of me:
- Wake up at 3am
- Breakfast is a mix of granola, nuts, almond milk, Emergen-C, and a Multi Vitamin
- Work from 4:30-9:30am
- Nap from 10am-12pm
- Sensible lunch - usually fruits and veggies in some sort of salad form. Sometimes Ham & Cheese with Pretzels
- Workout/Run for 15-30 minutes depending on the given day
- Teach from 3-5pm
- Dinner with the husband 6pm - usually something on the grill - chicken, steak, fish, served with rice or potato and some kind of veggie
- Bed at 8pm
I don't know how I can possibly change a thing. I am only human.
Have you had your iron checked? Try taking an iron supplement to boost your energy. Also, you may need to cut out your nap. Most people on regular day shifts don't take a nap, so that could be keeping you from sleeping. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I just read learned about iron deficiency from Dr. Oz! I am going to try to add a supplement and see what happens there.
DeleteAs for my nap. I tried cutting the nap, but then I am drowsy during teaching and in bed by 5 - which means no time with my husband. I will sacrifice a little sleep in order to spend a time with him. It's a must!
