October 5

Had breakfast at a Brooklyn bagel place in Astoria with Matt, then headed to Ruthie's so we could go to the venue: Le Poisson Rouge.

Spent the day outside the venue to ensure we would get a good seat.  Of course, we were also hoping for a meet and greet, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.  Had lunch at Peanut Butter and Company, which was the first place I had lunch when I first moved to New York.  What a lovely memory.  I had the most delicious sandwich:  The Heat in On - their Spicy Peanut Butter with Grilled Chicken and Pineapple Jam.  It was similar to Thai Satay and absolute heaven.

The NPR Tori show was nothing short of amazing. That is all.  Her setlist featured songs from each of her albums, plus some Bee Sides.  She played with a string octet from Julliard.  The arrangements were amazing.  I couldn't decide who to focus on more - Tori or the octet.  I only wish it had lasted longer.  Not even an encore, but I am glad I got to see her during her short visit to the U.S.

After the concert, we headed to a place that has been featured numerous times on Food Network:  Sticky's Finger Joint.  I can without a doubt say these are the best chicken fingers I have ever had.  Hands down.  I highly recommend the 'General Sticky Tso'.  Delicious.
