Back to school today completely congested and stuffed up. Luckily, the kids were quite mellow, so we got a lot done and there was very little raising of my voice. Went to the doctor afterwards to find what I already knew, I have a sinus infection AGAIN. Was put on an antibiotic and given Sudafed to help me out. I hope this goes away soon because it has me feeling like crap.
Speaking of work, I finally got clearance for the position I applied for over 2 years ago. That puts me in the "hiring pool", so now all I can do is wait for an offer. Also, the job I am working right now is posted online as NOW HIRING a "long-term sub" which offers salaried pay through the end of the school year - including sick leave and vacation pay. WTF?!?!?!? I must be chopped liver. Why was I not offered these benefits? I am just a daily rate sub. Good thing I have been applying to other jobs, because they seem to want to replace me without saying a thing.
For Acting class, my scene partner is counting on me having my lines memorized by our rehearsal on Thursday. He said "if you don't have your lines memorized there's no point in me showing up to watch you read from your script." Well, sir, our professor does not require us to be off book, and though I agree it will make the final performance much better, if I am not memorized, I am not memorized. We can still be good with script in hand. I certainly make no excuses, but I simply do not memorize things quickly and getting sick was not in the plans.
Tonight is the SAG-AFTRA merger Town Hall Meeting for Rhode Island and since my doctor recommended I get lots of rest, I will be staying home. This makes me sad because I am sure a lot of my questions would have been answered. Looks like the online meeting is my only choice now. I want to make an informed decision before casting BOTH my votes.
And I still haven't done my lessons plans for the rest of the week. UGH.
