Sunday

June 10

Made myself some strawberry pancakes this morning.  My husband doesn't do pancakes, so I don't get to have them very often, so I decided this morning since he was still sleeping I would go ahead and make myself a treat!

This afternoon I headed up to Boston to attend a casting call for the new Steve Carell film.  I was there early, but they were already seeing people, so I headed in, filled out the paperwork, met the casting director, had my photo taken, and then it was off to my next stop!  Had an audition appointment for 'A Christmas Carol'.  Upon arrival - I didn't get lost! - I had to drive around in search of parking, which is a difficult task on a Sunday (free parking), not to mention, a day with fantastic weather - Everyone was out and about!  Found a place not too far away, and made my way to the theatre.  The audition went well, though I am not sure I am what they are looking for.  I knew I was auditioning for a younger role, so I dressed the part, stayed light on the makeup, and sang a "younger" song.  After I read from the sides, the director asked me to read it even younger.  It went much better, though I am still not sure I was convincing.  At least I tried.  The director asked me a few more questions and mentioned 'The Drowsy Chaperone' on my resume.  As I exited, the pianist started playing the Monkey song from the show, made me smile as I left.  What a fun bunch! Would love to work for them over the holidays for sure!

No traffic heading home, which made it an easy hour drive.  Taught a couple lessons, and am now ready to relax WATCH THE TONY'S, before I have to head into the last week of school tomorrow.

GOOOOOOOO PORGY & BESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
