December 17

Thank goodness for a day off from work.  Woke up early, but layed in bed until 9am, then finally got up to do my 55-minute workout.  Last day of week 3.  Halfway there.

This afternoon I headed to the dentist for what I thought would be a whitening appointment.  I have never had a whitening, so I really have no idea what it entails, so here is what happened upon arrival:  1:45pm, I check in.  2:15pm, I am still sitting in the waiting room.  A woman comes out and asks me if I am waiting for someone.  I told her no and that I had checked in for my appointment.  The woman at the desk then confirmed I had checked in with her.  2:45pm, still waiting, so I went to the desk to find out what was going on.  She checked once again and realized though I had checked in with her, I hadn't actually been checked in.  They had put my file away and marked me as a no-show.  I knew I had a 4pm lesson to teach, but they told me it wouldn't take long, they just needed to take impressions for the whitening tray.  Hold it.  I already had that done when they gave me my new retainers.  In fact, he chose to give me this particular type of retainer knowing I wanted a whitening and these could serve as my trays.  Eventually, the dentist came in, he took a look at my retainers and said "Did I make these?"  Ummm, YES.  A month ago.  You already forgot.  He then looked closer and said "Yes, these should be just fine for the bleaching."  The lady then brought out a bleaching kit - FOR ME TO TAKE HOME?!?!?!?  What?!?!?!!?  I just waited for how long only to pick up an at-home kit?!?!?!?!!?  I am super frustrated with the entire situation and it makes me want to go to a new dentist, but he is the only dentist in the area that can eventually fix my space cosmetically when I am ready to have that done.

I did make it home in time to teach my voice lesson.  My husband should be home soon, we will have some dinner, and then are heading to Ocean State Theatre Company to see my buddy Lennie Watts in 'The SantaLand Diaries'.  Looking forward to not only seeing the show, but also seeing the new theatre facility.
