Switched over to a new workout DVD this morning which is now a 61-minute killer workout, so I am feeling the burn today.
Cleaned the bathroom, finished reading 'Fools' and began reading 'The King and I', then taught 2 voice lessons.
Now it's time for dinner and then bed as usual.
Today I was thinking, this time last year I was teaching music in the public school. I was assigned to 2 schools in order to be full-time. At one school I had my own classroom. We had lock-down drills and I knew exactly what to do in case of emergency. At my other school however, I did not have my own classroom and traveled from room to room in order to teach. Though all students and teachers were fully aware of lock-down procedures (and I am sure practiced them), I never participated in a drill at this school - and now that the issue has obviously come up - I did not have a key to any of the classrooms I taught in. Had we needed to go into lockdown, I would not have been able to lock the classroom door in which I was teaching. I can only hope that teachers who travel from classroom to classroom have put more thought into this than I did last year and make sure to have a key that can lock all doors in the school.
