What a perfect first day of spring! (minus the bronchitis that is) It got up to 75 degrees today AND I had the day off from teaching. I feel so relaxed - even though I am sick - and I love it. Can I have a repeat on this day?
This morning began with an audition for a theatre up in New Hampshire. I sang through the bronchitis quite nicely and my monologue got a few chuckles, which is always good. But now it seems my voice is pretty shot. I will be lucky if I have a voice by the end of the week. And I better, as I have another audition this weekend.
Post audition, I visited the orthodontist to get an idea of what might be able to be done about this gap in my two front teeth. He said he could remove the permanent brackets since they are doing no good anymore and that I could get a retainer which I would wear at night. He continued that that would be the quick fix and really wouldn't make it better, but would help keep my teeth in place where they are now. He mentioned braces, but I told him it wouldn't be possible with my performing career, so he made Invisiline an option, but added that too would not keep my gap from moving back. The best possible fix: braces again. I go back to visit him in May to discuss thoughts on treatment and payment plans, but I am pretty sure right now, a retainer might be the only option.
After all that, I couldn't help but stop at Rita's for a free first day of spring treat. YUM. Free is always good and their Black Forest Cake Italian Ice is to die for!
The day ended with the teaching of 2 wonderful voice lessons.
