This morning I auditioned for one of my favorite theatres to work for - and even better it's local - which means, if cast, I don't have to be away from my husband. I have worked for them before, so it was nice to walk into a room filled with familiar faces. And they were so nice and GENUINE. It was all smiles before I sang. I absolutely adore my new audition song which makes it easy to perform. However, I still have to work on the ending. Having a sinus infection definitely didn't help, but moving from my belt into mix isn't quite sounding the way I would like it to. Once I am healthy again, I will be working on that for sure. When I completed my song, we chatted a bit "how's life?" kind of stuff. I mentioned teaching and they mentioned me being a married woman. The time ended with "it's always a pleasure to hear you sing. So, we shall see what happens." They have SETC and NYC auditions ahead of them, so anything can happen. In the past I have been asked to dance, but they already know what I can do. They have also called me back to read sides. Not this time, so there is no telling what the outcome might be. No matter what, I was happy with what I presented and hope they remain to see something in me. There are only 2 possible shows I could be cast in, and in each of those shows, really only 2 possible roles I would be considered for. I know how competitive it is to work at this theatre, so it should be interesting to see how it turns out ...
