Wow. My students were bonkers today. And Mondays are usually "easy" compared to others. I have a feeling this week is going to be a rough one.
The Boston affiliate of the government position I applied to called and offered me the same position - IN BOSTON. I am sorry, but I cannot accept a part-time position in Boston. With gas prices the way they are, and a train schedule that wouldn't work with this one, it just isn't possible. I sure hope the Providence office calls soon.
At the same time, I get an email from a random IT company:
We have an urgent requirement for a VB6 Developer. This is a Full Time position based in Woonsocket, RI. If you are interested in this position, please contact me / send your updated resume. Description : The VB6 Developer role will involve design, development, enhancement and support (Visual Basic, VBA, SQL Server). Should possess strong analytical and communication skills, be organised and used to working to deadlines and meeting objectives. Thanks and look forward working with you.
As much as this sounds like a great position, I don't feel I possess enough knowledge in the field to apply.
