I find it funny that I end up teaching my Kindergarten lesson plan to one of my 2nd Grade classes just about every week. I have them for 60 minutes versus the 30 minutes I have the other 2nd Grade classes - and this is my worst behaved class, so the only way I can keep them listening and working is by keeping them up and moving NON-STOP. Most of my Kindergarten lessons right now are focused on keeping a beat which requires a lot of movement and even instruments, so it doesn't hurt that my 2nd Graders get to review the same thing. Once I have quickly gotten through the material they are required to learn (about 20 minutes) it's onto the Kindergarten lesson. Today they loved "Pass the Ball" - for about 10 minutes (that's about as focused as I can get them per activity). Then it was time to move on. And then move on again. And again. And again. What am I doing wrong? 6 different activities in one class. Unheard of. These kiddos are definitely my biggest challenge.
