Sunday

April 22

Spent last night with my husbands friends and wife of one of them.  The wife and I have become pretty good friends, so it is always a treat to spend time with her.  We sat around a fire pit and chatted while the boys did their thing (whatever that may be).  By 1am, it was time to say good night, though I am sure the boys could have continued into the wee hours - as they usually do.  Needless to say, on this rainy Sunday, we slept the morning away.  Eventually when we decided to get out of bed, my husband made cheesy grits and an egg scramble.  Thank you my dear!

Tonight I teach a lesson and then tomorrow it is back to school.  Spring Break was entirely too short, but I am thankful for 4-day work weeks for the next 3 weeks!  That will help the next 8 weeks of school pass by a little more quickly.  Too bad I don't get paid for those days off.

Applied to an ideal part-time job as an online college professor of music.  If hired, it will definitely be a foot in the door for my goal of teaching at the college level.  I also submitted for the theatre teacher position at the same school, even though I don't hold a masters in that field.  I feel I have enough professional knowledge that I could do it, and stated just that in my application.  Fingers crossed.

Also, filled out my application for renewal of my teachers license which expires in August.  I am able to do this in Rhode Island without any difficulty, so long as I send them money.  My Virginia license, however, will be expiring because I did not meet all the qualifications to renew.  It is unfortunate because with that license I have reciprocity in 48 of the 50 states.  Not so much in Rhode Island.  In fact, the license they will be issuing me in Rhode Island is not reciprocal in ANY state.  So, let's pray I can find work here.  This doesn't mean however, I will stop applying for positions in other states.  But it certainly makes it more difficult to get hired.
