This morning I drove into Boston to audition for a theatre in Cape Cod, and though there is only 1 contract available and only 1 role I could be considered for, I decided to go ahead with it.  You never know AND now they might think of me for future roles in shows they haven't cast yet.

The audition itself wasn't too bad, but a little awkward as they did not have an accompanist and did not state that in the audition announcement.  So, a cappella singing it would be!  I got through my first song and they asked me for a second contrasting piece.  Both sounded pretty good in the room - the acoustics are quite lovely.  After singing, I was asked to read a side.  I was given a brief description and off I went.  When done reading, I was given a little more direction and re-read the sides.  I still don't think I did what they wanted, but I did the best I could with what I was given, so was pleased.

Next it was off to an open call for background work on 'Grown-Ups 2' which has just begun filming in MA.  As usual, whenever I have two locations to go to in Boston, I ALWAYS get lost.  It only takes one wrong turn and I have no idea where I am.  What should have only taken 15 minutes, took me an hour to get to.  Then thankfully, since I am union, I was in and out like that.  Since I don't have any summer work lined up, I sure hope they decide to use me.

Tonight I have 4 lessons lined up, which will be nice extra money since I will have to take a few days off from school in the coming weeks for auditions.
