Happy Memorial Day! God Bless the USA and those who have served our country.
We took a boat out and spent the day on Rose Island, which is a small island between Newport and Jamestown. Since my mother-in-law works there as the education director, we were able to stay past public visiting hours and enjoy a BBQ dinner with family, friends, and the couple staying overnight. Turns out the couple who has been staying there all week is from Virginia - and what more - LYNCHBURG! Small small world for sure.
It was a nice relaxing day for all of us. No doubt, we will be back. Rose Island is a definite hidden treasure of Rhode Island. If you haven't been, you should visit.
