3 states, 2 auditions, 1 day.  AND I think the rain followed me everywhere I went!

This morning I drove to Connecticut for an audition.  They asked for 16 bars of a song and a monologue OR 2 contrasting monologues.  I, of course, chose to sing - a comical character piece.  Then I decided to do my more serious monologue to contrast.  The accompanist recognized me from a previous audition!  Once I completed my song and monologue, the Artistic Director asked me if I lived in New York.  Nope, Rhode Island.  He looked surprised.

Next stop, Massachusetts!  Audition #2 of the day.  Due to traffic, I arrived only 10 minutes prior to my appointment.  I ran to the restroom and then was given sides from the play.  I was able to only look it over once before being called into the room.  The side I read from was quite short and I felt as if it went well, but it went so quick.  The Artistic Director didn't ask me for anything else, but definitely looked over my entire resume and mentioned my musical experience.  The people in the room were so nice and pleasant, I know I would LOVE working for this company.

Home just in time to grab a bite to eat before I teach a lesson.  Back to school tomorrow!
