Every new year people make resolutions - most are not kept - so I started making goals instead.
In 2011, I accomplished 5 of my 9 goals.
1. Get down to 140 lbs
2. Fit into a size 8 wedding gown
3. Find a full-time salaried job
4. Perform in an equity show
5. Become eligible and join equity
6. Be in a commercial
7. Finish my degree
8. Become SAG eligible
9. Post a photo a day to FB
The weight goal is always a tough one, yet I always seem to set it. This year, I got down to 141.7, so I was close, but didn't quite make it. (I have since gained some of that back after eating all the holiday goodies)
After trying on wedding gowns, I can safely say there was no way I was going to fit into a size 8 no matter how much I tried. I was in a 10 and it fit like a glove.
I auditioned for a commercial, but didn't get it.
And once again, I applied, applied, and applied like crazy for work and still have yet to find a full-time salaried position.
In 2012, I have set the following goals:
1. Get weight below 140 lbs
2. Be in a show
3. Have at least 10 voice students
4. Pay off all credit card debt
5. Find 2 positives for every negative I make
6. Help start a GSS alumnae colony in Southern New England
7. Hold a benefit concert
8. Blog-a-day
Do I think I will accomplish all of these? Maybe. Maybe not. But that's why they are goals and change each year as I grow as a person. For the past 3 years, one of my goals has been to find a full-time salaried job. This has yet to happen, so this year I crossed it off the list. I have been doing just fine without it and if I can build my private voice student list, in addition to working part-time, I think I can make ends meet and be happy.
So here's to 2012! I had my black eyed peas, so it should be full of good fortune!
Nice list I'll be reading and watching. I call it my bucket list. Good Luck
